YES, IT IS THAT TIME OF YEAR AGAIN.
THE TIME I MISSED LAST YEAR....
REF: We missed International Caps Lock Day! :-(
AS YOU MAY OR MAY NOT KNOW, THIS BLOG HAS A FEW OF THE MOST ADAMANT CAPS-LOCK HATERS AMONG IT'S READERS, SO THIS IS THEIR DAY TO COME OUT OF THE WOODWORK AND TEST MY PATIENCE WITH THEIR VARIOUS CAUSES AND ACCUSATIONS OF DICTATORSHIP WITHIN THE BLOG.
WHICH IT IS (A DICTATORSHIP, I MEAN)
ANYWAY, THE SCHEDULED POSTS TODAY WILL NOT BE IN ALL CAPS, SO I FIGURED THERE SHOULD BE AT LEAST ONE POST WHERE I LEFT THE CAPS LOCK ON.
WARNING: ANY COMMENTS TO THIS POST WITH LOWERCASE LETTERS IN IT WILL EITHER BE (A) DELETED, (B) RIDICULED, OR (C) BOTH, IN KEEPING WITH THE DAY. IF YOU ARE A COLEMAK ZEALOT, THEN HOLD DOWN YOUR SHIFT KEY FOR THE DURATION. :-)
THIS POST BROUGHT TO YOU BY EVERY SINGLE UNICODE CHARACTER WITH THE Lu UNICODE CATEGORY (ALL 1320 OF THEM?)

REMINDER: TOMORROW OCT 23RD IS THE INTERNATIONAL A'POSTROPHE DA'Y.
THE PURPOS'E IS TO RID'I'CULE THO'SE STUP'ID IG'NORANTS WHO ARE UN'''ABLE TO S'E'E THE BEAUTY IN AP'OSTROP'HES STIC'KED IN THE MIDD'LE OF 'WORDS.
YES, MICHAEL, SOME OF YOUR READERS STILL THINK THAT YOU DONT KNOW THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN ITS AND IT'S! SHA'ME ON THEM. YOU ARE THE ONE WHO IS RIGHT, MICHAEL: HIDING THE UGLY BEHIND APOSTROPHES IS A DAMN GOOD IDEA. its IS SUCH AN UGLY WORD THAT IT DOESNT DI'SERVE CAPS.
BTW, WHY LIMIT OURSELVES TO APOSTROPHES? WHY NOT IT§S, I@TS, or IT~S?

WHAT A COINCIDENCE! TWO HOURS AGO AND COMPLETELY UNAWARE OF THIS HISTORIC DATE I FINALLY DECIDED TO TAKE THE PLUNGE AND GET RID OF THE CAPS LOCK KEY ONCE AND FOR ALL. MODFIED THE REGISTRY, REBOOTED -

Peter
P.S.: And yes, I typed with the shift key held down...

I USED TO WORK WITH COBOL (& ALGOL!) PROGRAMMERS IN MY LAST JOB, AND THEY'D OFTEN NOT TURN OFF CAPS LOCK WHEN THEY TYPED OUT AN EMAIL.
IT'S VERY HARD FOR ME TO READ AN EMAIL ALL IN CAPS WITHOUT IMAGINING IT BEING SHOUTED AT ME...

I use a Scancode Map (http://www.microsoft.com/whdc/device/input/w2kscan-map.mspx) of "00000000 00000000 03000000 00003A00 000052E0 00000000", which disables the Caps Lock and Insert keys.
I never press either of those keys intentionally.

FOR A SECOND THERE I THOUGHT I WAS READING THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE. THEY STILL HAVEN'T FIGURED OUT HOW TO TURN OFF THEIR CAPS-LOCK.
IF IT'S A SUNNY DAY WITH NORMAL TEMPERATURES, WHY ARE YOU SCREAMING AT ME?

I DELETED ALL MY EXPLETIVES BECAUSE I WAS AN AßHOLE. YOU WON'T HAVE ME TO RIDICULE ANY MORE.
